What's in store for Castore: Premium sports brand makes London outlet debut at The O2
Outlet Shopping at The O2, which is owned and operated by AEG Europe and Crosstree Real Estate, has welcomed premium sportswear brand, Castore, for the opening of their London outlet debut store, adding another dimension to the retail destination’s impressive sportswear line-up.
Specialising in advanced engineering and unique technical fabrics, Castore has opened a 1,302 sq ft unit adjacent to luxury fashion brand, Reiss, on the outlet’s upper level. The new store delivers a multitude of innovative collections across womenswear and menswear, as well as a dedicated junior’s section, elevating its accessibility and appeal to The O2’s diverse customer base. Since the brand’s conception in 2015, Castore has forefronted several impressive partnerships, working with top sporting names such as McLaren Racing, Red Bull Racing (ORBR), England Cricket, and Andy Murray. The brand has also recently announced its collaboration with Umbro, working exclusively with its English Premier League partnerships.
This latest opening marks Castore’s London outlet debut, reaffirming the consistent appeal of Outlet Shopping at The O2 in attracting outlet-firsts, and the essential role it plays within London’s wider retail scene. Castore will join a range of premium sportswear brands including adidas, New Balance, Nike, and Under Armour, further bolstering the strength of The O2’s impressive sportswear category, which so far this year, has witnessed a like-for-like net sales growth of 18% vs the same period in 2023 (1st January – 21st May), and an ATV increase of 8.9%.
Louisa Dalgleish, Leasing Director at Outlet Shopping at The O2, said: “Our sportswear category at The O2 consistently performs at an exceptional standard, and our new opening with Castorefurther highlights our position as not just a dominant outlet within the UK, but a destination of choice for well-known brands. The growth of our sportswear category underpins the success that brands can achieve here due to the fantastic foundations we have built at The O2, actively managing and listening to our customers at every step. We are a destination that continues to evolve, and Castore is a fantastic addition that will fit in seamlessly with our wider portfolio.”
Will Clarke, Chief Merchandising and Operating Officer at Castore, added: “Castore is proud to work with world-class athletes, teams and partners. We are thrilled to amplify our Better Never Stops philosophy with the opening of our first London-based Castore outlet store at The O2. This is an exciting time for the brand as we continue our growth trajectory and we look forward to embedding ourselves within our new location.”
This news follows the opening of Under Armour late last year, and the more recent opening of sustainable designer outlet store, All Good Things, which marked yet another London and outlet debut. With a fundamental focus on stocking ethical brands, extending the longevity of clothing, and keeping textiles out of landfills, All Good Things is a welcome addition to the destination’s well-rounded outlet offering.
