Redemption mixes up Seven Dials dining offer

Shaftesbury has today announced the signing of Redemption, at 2 Neal’s Yard. Redemption is London’s only vegan and alcohol free restaurant, also incorporating a sugar-free and wheat-free menu.

Due to open in December, Redemption’s Neal’s Yard site will be their London flagship and their largest location to date at 1650 sq ft. Redemption will include exclusive features unique to Seven Dials, such as the option of take away food and a retail space where visitors can purchase the brand’s cookbooks, candles and other complementary merchandise. Working alongside architect Atelier Khan and fit-out company, df20, the Redemption will also feature the world’s first alcohol-free bar with large bi-folding doors to allow access to alfresco dining in Neal’s Yard.

Joining Redemption is the recently launched St John’s Bakery, selecting Seven Dials to be home to their first permanent standalone site at 3 Neal’s Yard. The 550 sq ft bakery offers freshly made produce onsite, including morning pastries, sourdoughs and doughnuts.

Commenting on the news, Julia Wilkinson, Portfolio & Group Restaurant Strategy Executive at Shaftesbury, said: “Redemption and the recently opened St John’s Bakery, will both enrich the dining and specialist food offers in Seven Dials. Redemption’s creative and healthy vegan and alcohol free concept is a perfect addition to the eclectic lifestyle mix of shops, restaurants and cafes within Neal’s Yard, while St John’s quirky take on a traditional bakery operation creates a new element for Seven Dials visitors to experience. Both concepts are perfectly suited to the vibrant and colourful atmosphere of Neal’s Yard, already home to Time Out’s number one restaurant, The Barbary, in the heart of the West End.”

Catherine Salway, CEO from Redemption added: “Here at Redemption we are enormously excited to launch our flagship restaurant in the thriving Neal’s Yard. It is a tremendous step for our brand to have this beautiful space, which gives us the opportunity to exercise our ‘spoil yourself without spoiling yourself’ concept fully. The vibrant clientele of Neal’s Yard allows us the freedom to be experiential in trialing new exciting health foods and beverages from all over the world.”

Hanover Green Retail represented Shaftesbury in both deals. Redemption and St John’s Bakery dealt directly.
