Gloucester Quays enhances grab-and go offer as Pret a Manger leads world-famous trio
Peel Retail & Leisure has announced that international freshly-made food and organic coffee chain, Pret a Manger, is to make its city debut at Gloucester Quays, as will doughnut specialist Krispy Kreme. The globally renowned brands will be joined by Subway, with all three due to open in the coming weeks at the top 10 UK outlet.
Opening on High Orchard Street in a 1,841 sq ft unit with room to seat 85 customers, the new Pret a Manger shop will serve a menu of freshly-made food and organic coffee to customers in Gloucester for the very first time. Visitors to the outlet will be able to choose from Pret’s wide variety of sandwiches, wraps and salads, all handmade in its onsite kitchen, alongside its selection of baked goods and snacks. Coffees, teas, and other hot and iced drinks prepared by trained baristas will also be available for customers to enjoy.
Joining Pret a Manger on High Orchard Street will be Subway, which is set to open near The Real Greek and Bill’s in a 603 sq ft unit. Adding to Gloucester Quays’ grab-and-go offer, the popular chain will offer its famed made-to-order sandwiches. The outlet is also set to welcome a new kiosk from Krispy Kreme, bringing its extensive range of hand-crafted doughnuts to the city for the first time in a dedicated space.
Paul Carter, Asset Director at Peel Retail & Leisure, commented: “In Gloucester Quays’ unique crossover position as both outlet and de facto city centre, the importance of having a quality grab-and-go offer is not to be underestimated. Having these three global F&B brands commit to the destination points to that, particularly how we can cater to breakfast, lunch, and dinner audiences, whether they’re here for a retail-dominated experience or because they work or live locally. Pret, Subway, and Krispy Kreme will all bring something different to the outlet, and their arrival is further evidence of our 15-year-long dedication to meeting the needs of our loyal and diverse catchment.”
Clare Clough, UK Managing Director at Pret a Manger, added: “Pret is opening shops in towns and cities across the UK, so it was about time we found ourselves a home in the historic city of Gloucester. We’re excited to welcome 10 new Team Members to the Pret family to help us deliver a fantastic experience for our customers, and we look forward to opening our doors very soon.”
The trio of F&B signings follows a successful Summer Food Festival at Gloucester Quays, which welcomed over 150 stalls from local operators, uplifting footfall at the outlet by 37% week-on-week, and seeing a 4.5% boost to total sales.
