Epsom’s Ashley Centre enhances mix with two new retailers
CBRE Investment Management has announced Oliver Bonas, the independent British lifestyle store, has signed at the Ashley Centre, Epsom’s premier shopping destination. ProCook, the specialist kitchenware brand, has also recently been able to call the destination home, with both retailers driving forward the landlord’s aspirational leasing strategy.
Oliver Bonas will be opening a 2,390 sq ft store, showcasing its full range of fashion, homeware, jewellery, furniture, and gifting. Designed by the brand’s specialist team, the store will complement nearby retailers including Next and the centre’s anchor, M&S.
Oliver Tress, Founder at Oliver Bonas, said: “We are pleased to announce that the Ashley Centre will be joining our portfolio of stores as we continue to grow our physical presence across the UK. This area is a key location, and one with a large catchment area for us to tap into and provides us with more opportunity to build our customer base in Surrey.”
ProCook, the specialist kitchenware brand, has opened a 2,124 sq ft store at the Ashley Centre, adjacent to Next. Founded 28 years ago, ProCook has grown into the UK’s leading direct-to-consumer specialist kitchenware brand, offering high-quality ranges with 5-star customer service, and providing a brand-new use for the centre.
Andy Kerr, Retail Director at ProCook, commented: “Our Ashley Centre store opening marks the significant halfway point for ProCook’s retail estate growth plans this year and we’re delighted to solidify our brand presence in this key part of the Home Counties.”
Louisa Butters, Head of Retail Asset Management UK at CBRE IM, added: “A key element of our strategy is to continue building the Ashley Centre’s aspirational brand mix. Complementing the centre’s extensive refurbishment, which is due to complete in the coming weeks, these retailers advance the centre’s position as a destination for prime retail and adds something new to the visitor experience.”
This announcement follows the news that Primark is set to open a 44,000 sq ft store adjacent to the centre’s central square, which is currently undergoing a £7 million refurbishment to create a more modern and contemporary interior. The store will open later in 2025, and is expected to create 100 jobs for the local community.
