Italia Conti arrives at Woking's Victoria Place

Victoria Place, the most significant regeneration initiative in Woking town centre for a decade, has welcomed Italia Conti to Henry Plaza.  The renowned performing arts institution has opened a 48,000 sq ft purpose-built musical theatre, acting and dance facility, spanning two floors in Henry Plaza’s striking atrium, seeing upwards of 800 students and staff in attendance.

Launched in time for the start of the new autumn term, the new Woking school offers exceptional training in dance, drama, and musical theatre.  Italia Conti, a leading performing arts institution, is open to both full and part-time students, with a range of courses available, including teaching qualifications and Summer School.  The new Victoria Place location features 24 state of the art studios, and a fully equipped gymnasium and theatre. Facilities also include a television and film suite and recording studio.

Hayley Newton-Jarvis, CEO at Italia Conti, commented: “We are delighted to welcome both students and staff to our new purpose-built Victoria Place facilities and bring our extensive industry knowledge and high-quality training to a new era of talent. We believe that a performing arts education should be accessible and available to everyone, so having a base in an increasingly energised area like Woking with our fantastic new facilities is a big moment for us and our community.”

Councillor Ann-Marie Barker, Leader of Woking Borough Council, added: “Italia Conti’s new site is a hugely exciting new addition to Victoria Place, and we are proud to welcome such a well-renowned institution to Woking. We are committed to curating not only a diverse retail, hospitality, and leisure offering in Victoria Place, but also facilities that create opportunities for the community, and the arrival of tenants like Italia Conti is a testament to that.”

Italia Conti has recently launched in Victoria Place, which officially opened in March, including a 50,000 sq ft M&S store, a new concept store from Moss Bros, and athletic footwear and apparel retailer Skechers. They were joined in July by leading national gym chain The Gym Group, who took an 11,500 sq ft space.
