Where's Fred's to launch debut concept in the heart of the city
The Mercers’ Company has today announced that coffee and wine bar, Where’s Fred’s, has signed for its first-ever location at Frederick’s Place within the heart of the City.
Located at 7 Frederick’s Place, the 750 sq ft unit will house Where’s Fred’s sophisticated day-to-night concept which will seamlessly take consumers from brunch to evening drinks and nibbles. Due to launch this Summer, the Where’s Fred’s concept has been created by founder, Chelsea Finch, following the success of her specialty coffee brand, District.
Owned by the Mercers’ Company, Frederick’s Place sits within a cul-de-sac adjacent to Bank station, and around the corner from The Ned. As part of a unique campus-style cluster of character buildings, 7 Frederick’s Place forms part of the Mercer’s Company City home estate renovation project, which has undergone a £20 million renovation over the last 5 years. Where’s Fred’s will offer an array of the popular brunch and lunch options that District does so well, alongside a casual evening menu featuring charcuterie boards and a selection of organic wines.
Chelsea Finch, Founder, Where’s Fred’s, commented: “I’m excited to branch out into the evening sector with an evolutionary concept based on the successful District brand. Tucked away in its own unique location, Frederick’s Place is the epitome of an inner-city cultural ecosystem, providing an exclusive location mostly discovered by word and mouth. We are excited to launch a new venue that will appeal to everyone – catering to office workers surrounding the area and capturing the London locals looking for either lunch or after-work drinks. With brilliant transport links on our doorstep, and a picturesque fascia, Where’s Fred’s debut home at 7 Frederick’s Place will open in time to welcome guests later this Summer.”
Simon Taylor, Property Director at the Mercers’ Company, added: “Our vision for the City home estate was to enhance the beloved traditional cul-de-sac atmosphere and create a contemporary working community in the heart of London. Our extensive investment into Frederick’s Place has transformed the location, combining the City’s heritage with modern and desirable office spaces as well as an exciting food and beverage line-up with daytime and evening appeal. Where’s Fred’s flexible offer will provide a chic and friendly addition to the destination and we are confident they will fit in exceptionally.”
The signing follows the news that independent skate shop, No Chaos, and cult brand, Scum, have officially launched their experiential central London flagship store in Covent Garden.
Distrikt acted on behalf of the Mercers’ Company and Where’s Fred’s represented themselves.
