'Tis the season to help out: Camden market launches its big winter thank you
LabTech, owner of Camden Market, and London’s first eco market, Buck Street Market, has announced the launch of its latest initiative, Camden Market’s Big Winter Thank You. This Christmas, LabTech has focused its financial resources on thanking the community, customers, and retailers for their ongoing support during the pandemic.
Launching on December 14, the Big Winter Thank You encourages locals and visitors from across London alike to complete their Christmas shopping at either of LabTech’s Camden or Buck Street Markets. Inspired by the government’s Eat Out to Help Out initiative in August, LabTech will reimburse its retailers up to 50% of a consumer’s spend, capped at £20 total discount. Several retailers have signed up to the scheme so far, including iconic Camden Market brands, such as Collectif, Modfather and The Camden Watch Company. The campaign will run until January 31 2021.
Continuing to thank the NHS for its support, LabTech has dedicated its 25 ft Christmas tree complete with blue ribbon to the NHS staff and key workers, and has provided a free pop-up unit at Buck Street Market for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, to help with their fundraising efforts.
Maggie Milosavljevic, LabTech’s Retail Commercial Director, commented: “LabTech has always shown dedication and support to the Camden community and it is no different this Christmas, but with an adapted approach, that focuses resources directly on our customers and retailers, thanking them for their perseverance throughout the pandemic. We are confident the campaign will help drive footfall and sales, as well as ensuring that Camden Market and Buck Street Market are at the top of consumers’ preferred locations for their Christmas shopping this year.”
Mario Warner, Owner of Modfather Clothing, comments: “This initiative will help remind existing visitors and customers of what Camden Market has to offer. It has been the most challenging of years for all traders and, the same can be said for visitors to the market, navigating the changes as well as restrictions to travel. As a family run business, the assistance from LabTech has been essential in helping us to weather the storm and retain our small team. We’ve been made to feel valued and part of a community and that isn’t taken for granted. Modfather look forward to welcoming existing and new visitors this festive season and we are excited about being able to provide some great offers on our products for those looking to purchase unique gifts this year.”
Camden Market and Buck Street Market have maintained a commitment to safe and sustainable practices and processes. One-way systems floor markers for social distancing, and hand sanitiser stations have remained in operation to ensure the markets are Covid-secure. In addition, all Camden businesses adhere to the most up-to-date government guidelines on social distancing and cleaning.
