Tap & Tandoor turns up the heat at Queensgate
Lendlease and Invesco Real Estate, the global real estate investment manager, are pleased to announce the official opening of Tap & Tandoor at the Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough. The regional Indian gastro pub chose Queensgate as the location for their first restaurant in the region.
The new 4,329 square foot restaurant located on 52/53 Cumbergate, serves up a vast selection of small plates, mixed grills and home-style curries to a maximum of 80 covers. Designed by an in-house team, the restaurant features a hand-painted beer mural, vintage mirrors and doors from India, alongside a quintessential pub fireplace and stag’s head; mixing a traditional tavern feel with Indian heritage. Tap & Tandoor Queensgate is the team’s second restaurant concept to launch after a successful first year in Solihull.
Guy Thomas, Head of Retail at Lendlease, commented on the opening: “Tap & Tandoor are the perfect example of an independent brand making waves in the food & beverage market and creating concepts to work specifically with destinations. One of our main strategies at Queensgate is to support local business and we are excited to play a part in Tap & Tandoor’s expansion in the industry.”
A representative of Tap & Tandoor, added: “Having grown our brand from the concept stage to owning two sites within two major UK cities, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and we are delighted to have officially opened our latest restaurant concept. The Queensgate team have been instrumental in our expansion accomplishments and we are sure Tap & Tandoor Peterborough will be a huge success.”
Tap & Tandoor joins Queensgate’s £60m extension plans alongside the recent news that John Lewis & Partners has announcement details of their £21 million investment and refurbishment of its 93,000 sq ft store, due to be completed in January 2020.
CBRE and Time Retail Partners represented Queensgate, Tap and Tandoor dealt direct.
