@pizza takes a slice of Grand Central

One of Edinburgh’s favourite pizza brands, @pizza, has officially opened its first restaurant in England, at Grand Central, Birmingham. The restaurant is @pizza’s second in its estate.

The 2,000 sq ft restaurant has space for 60 covers set among urban materials and monochrome décor. @pizza’s offer centres around an open kitchen and counter service, where customers can choose from a total of 64,000 possible topping combinations and watch their pizza being cooked instantly in front of them. An order and collect app has been created exclusively for the Grand Central site. @pizza prioritises sustainability and offers its renowned house craft soda which is made with sustainable cane sugar, and all packaging is sourced from vegetables and is 100% compostable.

Iain Mitchell, UK Commercial Director at Hammerson, said: “@pizza is a great addition to Grand Central’s already strong F&B offering, as its extensive menu means there is something for everyone. Their commitment to providing quality food in a sustainable way will be a real draw, and it’s great to see they are already attracting hungry shoppers in their droves.”

Rupert Lyle, Co-Founder and CEO of @pizza added: “To launch @pizza in the thriving city of Birmingham is a measure of our success. Grand Central’s prominent location as the main thoroughfare in and out the country’s second city, as well as a shopping and dining destination, made it an obvious choice for the next step in our expansion. Our pizza is made in a matter of seconds in front of customers’ eyes, so it is already a massive hit with busy commuters coming in and out of New Street Station and shoppers looking for a quality pizza offering.”

The Grand Central destination is part of the Bullring Estate that comprises the Bullring, Grand Central, and Link Street.
